My eighteen year old daughter and I went on a mother and daughter trip to Sri Lanka through Go East and had a wonderful experience. The plan was excellent from the start, with full flexibility and the option to change things on the move according to our wishes and energy. What we loved most: the nature and wildlife, the close encounters with elephants, monkeys, birds and deer, the nature trails and the boat trip on the lake were magical. The local experiences, the cooking workshop and preparing traditional Sri Lankan food, were great. One small note for travellers: the archaeological tour spoke less to an eighteen year old, and in our view the hot springs at Kanniya can be skipped. A sense of safety and a wonderful team: our driver and local guide was simply lovely, courteous and full of knowledge, and contributed enormously to the success of the trip. As a mother and daughter travelling alone, we felt completely safe with him the whole way. Dear Daniella, the trip you planned for us was tailored perfectly, matching our wishes with the possibilities and the weather. Hotels: we stayed in four high standard hotels, pleasant, clean and excellently located. Spacious rooms at the Triant in Hanoi, with a rooftop terrace perfect for ending every evening with a drink, a pleasant breeze and an urban view. In Phu Long a resort among the finest and most beautiful. In Ninh Binh too, a lovely hotel inside a wide, cool area. In Hoi An, outside the old town, large clean rooms and above all an excellent shower. The yacht in Ha Long Bay was excellent. Guides: the two main guides worth mentioning are Hoang in the Hanoi area and Lee in the Hoi An area, locals with excellent English, broad knowledge and friendly faces. Lan's operations company: amazing precision to the minute, every day according to our schedule, with daily WhatsApp communication. Service that deserves a ten. Drivers: driving in Vietnam is not easy, the road is a jungle unlike ours, and all the drivers were calm, gentle, never aggressive, and navigated the roads courteously and safely. Activities: cycling, paddling basket boats and bamboo boats, the Vietnamese lantern workshop, bamboo work, the sewing workshop near Hanoi, the visit to the spice farm with rural Vietnamese cooking lessons, all of them instructive, enjoyable and precisely on time. The jeep tour of Hanoi was a lovely attraction. Walks and cycling in the rice fields around Phu Long and Ninh Binh were an experience of nature and freedom. In short, in two weeks we managed to reach many places, experiences and encounters with the Vietnamese people. Later in life we would be glad to complete the south and add it as another destination in the East. Thank you to Daniella Eitan, who advised, planned and made our trip happen, including patience with payment during days of war and uncertainty.

Above all, Jeju Island was a unique experience in itself, completely different in its human atmosphere. The decision to focus less on typical tourist attractions and more on real encounters, walking in forests and visiting places where ordinary people live, made the experience far more authentic and meaningful. The food was also a highlight: rich, surprising and deeply enjoyable. Seoul, on the other hand, is a completely different world, a huge, vibrant metropolis full of energy, encounters and experiences. The programme there was diverse and interesting, including exposure to the local economy and major companies like Samsung. The timing throughout the trip was impeccable. Everything ran with precision, smoothly and professionally, and it contributed greatly to a sense of comfort and confidence throughout the journey. I know I challenged you quite a bit with my requests to focus on people and culture and to avoid overly touristy attractions, and you managed to tailor the programme exactly to that vision. When you travel for a short time to a place like India it is important to plan the trip properly. Daniella planned it with us and was attentive to our requests, changed things and fine tuned them. The trip was excellent, planned and carried out properly and according to our requests. We enjoyed it very much. Points for improvement: some of the guides spoke English with an unclear accent. The guide who brought us to the Harmony hotel in Saigon left us without making sure we were checked in, and the check in process at the hotel was very bad. We had to add money to get a normal room. In some of the hotels the bed was also small and uncomfortable.

We sent the dates, the family composition and our preferences, including odd ones like no drives of more than two hours, and we received a perfect trip plan, nicely packaged with photos and links and everything. We were on a family trip, a couple plus two, of two and a half weeks in Vietnam. On price, the plan we received from the Go East team was cheaper than the competition and was definitely worth it. The route, the sites and the attractions were carefully chosen, and it is clear the company has a lot of experience, because there really were no misses: excellent hotels, and I admit we were even a little annoyed that we upgraded one of the hotels because it was not needed at all. The accompanying guides always waited for us a few minutes before departure times, large vehicles allowed us to load all the equipment, and above all an attentive team that made sure to check on us directly and made sure everything was ticking.
